Construction of Simooya Primary School
The Clinic building was completed and began operating soon after its completion. Milden and Catherine decided to venture into another project of constructing a school within the area of Simooya – not far from the completed clinic.
The children were all travelling long distances of about 8-10 kilometres to go to the nearest government school. The building of a school would ensure that some of the children would instead travel a short a distance when the school was complete and operating. Funds were sourced from Legatt Trust Fund and Tanworth Starfish Fund in the UK who made donations towards the building of the community school.
